CANDIDATE PROFILE

The new Superintendent of Decatur ISD will be a transformational leader who is focused on student achievement and District stability.  The future Superintendent will become the face of the district to our students, parents, staff, and community.  The candidate must be a person of integrity and an effective communicator with all stakeholders.  The selected candidate will have demonstrated the necessary financial oversight skills to successfully guide the District through tough economic times.

 

CHARACTERISTICS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Master’s Degree- Required; Doctoral Degree- Preferred
* Texas Superintendent Certification- Required
* Principal Experience- Required; Central Office Experience- Preferred
* Ten (10) years’ education experience with at least five (5) years teaching experience
* Advanced leadership and communication skills
* Residency within Decatur ISD

We are one of the top paying school districts in the Wise County area, and are competitive across the State regardless of size of district.  Compensation and benefits for the Decatur ISD Superintendent are negotiable and commensurate with the candidate's experience.
